The Girl from Ipanema

alas, finished this one...
so far, the hardest piece ive made digitally

i was gunning for a portrait of sitti navarro but sort-of made an epic fail on this one. haha
sitti is a bossa nova singer in the philippines, and "girl from ipanema" was one of her cover songs.

rendering the skin this time around was quite a challenge. i had to put more and more skin tone layers, more layers for the highlights and dark areas, more skin tones etc.
but doing the hair totally sucked. im not that good on rendering hair, so i had to resort to stroking each bundle. strokes that are too short would give her chewbacca-like hair so i had to make the strokes quite longer.

so why sitti?... 'coz i quite fancy her! motherfucker! who wouldnt!... plus she reminds me of home...
oh i surely miss them fine filipinas back home...

this would be my first take on more realistic portraits, gots more practicing to do!
